This five-tier waterfall in Phanom Bencha National Park has swimming pools at all five levels, and is one of the biggest in Krabi province, even in the dry season. You can either take a gentle stroll up to levels one or two, or a much stiffer hike up to one of the higher levels, where a beautiful panorama opens up.
Huay To Waterfall, with its five-tiered cascades and pools, is Phanom Bencha's most popular attraction; the cascades are located a short and lovely walk from the parking area near the park entrance gate.
A footbridge crosses the creek just before reaching the first of the five tiers of plunging water and it provides the first good vantage point from which to view the falls. It is possible to sunbathe on a little sandy beach at the base of the crystal clear pools and watch butterflies rise on the updrafts.
Huge emergent trees tower 40 metres above the lush cool green of the surrounding forest and are accompanied by the soothing sounds of songbirds and cicadas.
Custom-designed day-trips are not a problem or expensive, so if you fancy combining the waterfall visit with other options than the above, contact us - maybe you'd like to (a) stop for lunch at a restaurant in stilts in a small lake stocked with big fish (it's amusing to feed them, and eat them too), (b) go shopping in Krabi town (c) go for a sunset dinner to an inexpensive, atmospheric and authentic sunset restaurant near Krabi town (d) visit the hot springs and emerald pool
That's 6 different options we can combine into a private day-trip, as follows:
